You can also visit our FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE
There will be 4 sessions – 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. None of the sessions will be specialised to a particular aspect of filmmaking – each session is designed to include all participants equally.
1. Introduction
– purpose/aims of workshop
– getting to know each of the participants
2. What makes a good film?
– exploring different aspects such as plots, characters, acting, cinematography, scores
– how these things change depending on genre
– the form of ‘short film’… Introduce KKIFF competition requirements, including theme.
LUNCH
3. Creating production teams
– Each writer/director/producer who wishes to have a story made into a film has to ‘sell’ their idea to other participants, in order to put together a production team.
4. Concept development
– Teams are given time to come up with a concept to pitch to the rest of the class. These concepts are then workshopped to create polished concepts. Teams then create their short film over the next couple of months, working closely with myself.
Workshop is intended to encourage/develop participants’ individual style. It is to facilitate the coming together of like-minded young/emerging filmmakers to help them bring their stories to life on the big screen.
Get ready for the KKIFF 2013 Filmmakers’ Competition!
See you there!
