Leroy Low Tiong Lim – Winner of the THINK5 Filmmakers Competition
The THINK5 Filmmakers’ Competition was part of the KKIFF 2013 and received 51 entries from throughout Malaysia. This was the biggest number of entries since the competition started in 2010. The judges were Hassan Muthalib and Wong Tuck Cheong, both from KL and both very experienced in making and critiquing films.
The winner of the THINK5 Filmmakers Competition was announced at the Awards Night in June of last year. He is Leroy Low Tiong Lim and his movie ‘They don’t like me’ was screened at the Awards. The KKIFF’s prize was RM5000 and Datuk Afendi, Chairman of FINAS, offered an additional RM10,000 to help Leroy make his next movie.
The KKIFF is pleased to announce that Leroy has received his cheque from FINAS and will be going on to make a movie called ‘Adunan’.
