Studied Law, Philosophy, and History of Arts at the Universities of Muenster, Freiburg, Rome and Berlin (1977-87). Fine Arts at the Braunschweig School of Art (1987-91), attended film and video classes of Prof. Birgit Hein and Prof. Gerhard Buettenbender). Received Master’s degree in Braunschweig in 1991.

Experimental poems, paintings, fotography, copyart since 1977. Texts and diary since 1979. Installations, performances, events since 1980. Over 70 experimental short films and videos since 1981, four feature films.

Film exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art New York in 1987, 1992 and 1999. Participation in many international film festivals (17 films at Berlin Film Festival since 1984). Numerous film awards (e.g. “1st Prize German Competition Oberhausen” in 1991). Numerous Werkschauen (e.g. in USA, Canada, Russia, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Finland, Poland, Brasil, Colombia, Indonesia and the Philippines). Numerous film tours (e.g. ‘Missionstournee’ and ‘Nordamerika-Mission’) with presentations of special compiled film programs.

Founding member, oyko-film-coop and Interfilm Festival in Berlin 1982. Film journalist, ‘die tageszeitung’ Berlin 1982-85. Participation in the roundtable of Berlin Film Production (the Berlin Model for Cultural Film Funding, 1989/90). Jury member for several international film festivals.

Organisation of german/international, avantgarde and GLBT film events for the Museum of Modern Art Frankfurt and several other institutions and for international festivals (e.g. in Sao Paolo, St. Petersburg and Chiangmai). Presentation of touring programs of German experimental filmwork at home and abroad. Occasional cooperation with the Goethe Institute, Council Programs for Visiting Foreign Artists, the Senate of Cultural Affairs for Berlin and the Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek. Publications on Off-Off-Cinemas and on Super-8.

Since 1990 workshops, project advising and apprenticeship counselling in the area of media production (including BBJ-Consult/Berlin und Cineworks/Vancouver). Guest lecturer on Experimental Film and Interactive Media (e.g. at Merz Akademie Stuttgart and at Beijing Normal University Zhuhai/China).

tino-perezProducer:  Tino Perez

After a stint with junior production film positions in Madrid, Argentina, Singapore and Taiwan, Tino got started as a technical director and later on as art director/animator. Then in 1995, he started working on a senior level as the Project Developer and Director in Animation and Special Effects for a full-scale production house in Taiwan and Manila.
In 1998, he moved back to Spain to work for a then new compositing software company, Jaleo, as Applications Specialist. In this period, he was also contacted by Celador for Systems Direction of their international shows – “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”, “The Weakest Link?”, “People Versus”, and others. For four and half years, he was launching their game shows in UK, Latin America (Caracas, Buenos Aires, Colombia), Eastern Europe (Georgia, Russia), Japan, India, and Southeast Asia (Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia). Afterwards, he moved to Hong Kong and launched “The Interactive Channel”. In 2005, LOL Malaysia employed him in their team to develop an interactive comedy channel in Bahasa. Tino is now their Operations Manager and specialist for system flow deployment.


shweta-kishoreProduction Designer: Shweta Kishore

Shweta Kishore is an independent filmmaker who has worked with international educational and cultural organisations over a career spanning 15 years. She has been commissioned to create works for public arts organisations such as Museum Victoria, Melbourne, Australia-India Council and Documentary Educational Resources, USA. Her work has screened at international film festivals and is housed in the British Library, Museums of Civilisation, Canada, ACMI, Harvard University and University of Columbia, Berkeley. Shweta trains young filmmakers at Victorian public schools, youth organisations such as Student Youth Network and was visiting lecturer at Victoria College of Arts, Melbourne. For the last two years Shweta has curated the feature film programme of the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival, Australia. Shweta is currently writing her PhD in film studies at Monash University and beginning research fellowship at Magic Lantern Foundation, New Delhi in March 2013.

A young cinematographer who is slowly emerging into the industry. Currently bases himself in Kuala Lumpur, shooting commercials, music videos, feature films and does his own photography/art projects.

Kok Siew Wai is a video-sound artist and a performer. She has exhibited widely in New York State, Malaysia, China and Europe. Siew Wai has participated in numerous media art festivals including 2004 Improvised and Otherwise Festival(NYC), 25hrs International Video art Show (Spain), Science and Art International Digital Art Education Proseminar & Digital Art Exhibition (China) and more.

She has received grants from New York Foundation for the Arts and The Arts Council in Buffalo. She was granted the Special Jury Commendation by the Thayer Fellowship In the Arts (SUNY) during her graduate study at Alfred University.

Siew Wai’s sound works are included in the compilation album Out of Nowhere – Electronic Music from the Upstate New York Fringe (2003), produced by Aaron Miller & the Big Orbit Gallery (Buffalo, NY). Siew Wai gained her BA in Media Studies at University of Buffalo and her MFA in Electronic Integrated Arts at Alfred University.

Wearing many hats as an artist, Siew Wai is also an independent curator who has produced several media art events in Upstate New York and in Malaysia with the support of local art organizations and educational institutions.

Currently, Siew Wai is a lecturer in the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, KL

hassan-muthalibScriptwriting: Hassan Muthalib
Hassan is a self-taught artist and filmmaker who has been actively involved in the local film industry for almost 50 years. Among the films that he has made are the popular Sang Kancil series and Silat Legenda, Malaysia’s first animated feature film.  He is also a part-time lecturer on film & animation & has conducted filmmaking workshops in many countries.

He has been recognized by the Prime Minister of Malaysia as the Father of Malaysian Animation and by the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as an Asian Animation Pioneer. Hassan has been a jury member of many international film festivals and is also a film critic, speaking weekly on Bernama’s Radio 24 in the programme, BREAKING THE CODE WITH HASSAN MUTHALIB.

His writings on film appear in many books & academic journals overseas. For his achievements, he was awarded an Honorary Masters in Creative Technology by UiTM where he was an Artist-in-Residence.
