SFA Workshops
Pre-production is the most important phase of film production where important creative and business decisions are made which will affect the outcome of the content and production of the film both directly and indirectly.
The Sabah Film Academy 2013 is organizing a series of pre-production workshops led by a team of experienced Malaysian and international mentors in which they can share their valuable experience and industry insights.
This year’s theme is “Journey of a Script”, where the workshop participants will learn the process of how a script is developed by a scriptwriter; how it is then chosen by a producer for film funding and distribution negotiation; how film directors can further enhance their art of storytelling and transform the script into a screenplay; and when the script reaches the technical hands of the director of photography, production designer and film editor, how they see the script and work with it.
By the end of the workshops, participants will have a better understanding of pre-production which will lay a solid foundation for them as filmmakers.
These workshops are open to filmmakers and the general public.
Admission is free. Limited to 20 participants. Please bring your laptop!
SPECIAL NOTE:
- For those participants who attend all 6 workshops on Day 1 and Day 2, certificates will be given at Awards Night, Sunday, 09 June from 8.00pm.
