Sabah Pitching Training & Awards is delighted to have Mark Overett from JMC Academy, Brisbane, as the Lead Trainer this year.

Mark Overett is a writer/producer and founding partner of New Holland Pictures Two. His films include 6 x AFI Award winning drama UNFINISHED SKY (2007, dir. Peter Duncan); NZ comedy SEPARATION CITY (2009, dir Paul Middleditch, starring Joel Edgerton), Danish/Australian action/comedy AT WORLD’S END (2009, dir Tomas Villum Jensen), Finnish/German/Australian sci-fi comedy IRON SKY (2011, dir. Timo Vuorensola) and thriller THE FEAR OF DARKNESS (2014, dir. Chris Fitchett). Most recently, he produced the short film AZZURRO in Puglia, Italy (2018) which subsequently won Best Film at Santa Monica International Film Festival and is now being adapted as an Australian/Canadian feature. He is also currently developing the shark thriller GREY FEAR and supernatural crime TV series THE BROKEN ONE based on Stephen M. Irwin’s novel. Mark was awarded Australian Producer of the Year (2008) by the Screen Producers Association. He is currently Head of Film & TV at JMC Academy, Brisbane.

The Sabah Pitching Training & Awards takes place on 14-15 September (Sat & Sun) from 9.00am each morning.
