Félix Fernández de Castro, Director/Editor
Félix has spent almost half of his lifetime working in advertising, first as a creative, then as a director. That´s why he likes to think that one of his talents might have to do with getting involved in all the process of the making of commercials, from the idea to the mise en scène. That might also be the reason why a lot of his works from both sides of the counter, with a particular strength in visuals, have won many national and international awards.
In addition to his work in advertising, he has directed the critically acclaimed documentary “María and I”, finalist in the Goya and Gaudi awards, winner in the REC International Film Festival (among others) and screened at many film festivals. Most recently, he directed the short fiction film, “Zebra”, also in the official selection of many national and international film festivals. But what probably describes Felix Fernandez de Castro most accurately is his talent for telling stories. Standing in a bar or sitting at a desk, working on a script or a film (it´s all the same to him), it´s what he really enjoys doing and what he´s good at.
Georg Zengerling, Technical
Born in 1986 in Gotha, Germany, Georg started his career with a hands-on education in lighting, working at various studios and on-location sets in Berlin. He received three years of professional training at the ARD station SWR in Stuttgart and Tübingen to become an audiovisual media designer. Specializing in camera technique he went on working for the SWR as a 1st AC. Since 2012 he´s returned to a freelancing and works predominantly but not only for documentaries as a DoP and postproduction supervisor. As such, The Forecaster and THE PROMISE* are his first feature length productions and the results of his ongoing collaboration with director Marcus Vetter.
*THE PROMISE will be screened at MBO Imago Mall on Saturday, 22 July, 9.00pm – Opening Night
