Presenting the Sabah Film Academy’s team of mentors!
A fantastic team of four very experienced filmmaking professionals who are all looking forward to working with young, passionate filmmakers from Malaysia during the Sabah Film Academy, from 30 May to 7 June.
The Dean and Director of the Academy is Rick Minnich. He’s an American living in Berlin who has been writing, directing and producing shorts and feature documentaries since 1993. His film about his father ‘Forgetting Dad’ is one of the award-winning documentaries he has made and it will be screened on Saturday, 6 June, at the KKIFF.
The Cinematographer is Jeffri Yusof, a Malaysian who has been a Cinematographer since 1987 and is also a Director and Producer. He also took part in the KKIFF in 2011, so it’s great to have him back with us!
The Sound/Music Designer is Thomas Robert from France, who has a background in painting and photography but became a Sound Editor because of his fascination with the relationship between sound and image. He has been working in this area since 1997.
The Editor is Larry Johnson, an American who been making videos and films since 1983. He has won awards for his work in history and culture and his movies have been screened at Native American film festivals.
