Submission Guidelines

Submission Guidlines

  1. Submissions can be made by citizens of ASEAN countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam)
  2. There are no submission charges
  3. The film/video should preferably be a documentary – the choice of topic of yours. Films other than documentaries will also be considered.
  4. Both shorts and feature-length films can be submitted
  5. Multiple submissions are welcome
  6. Screening format is digital video
  7. The film can be in any language – but English subtitles are required if it is not in English
  8. Copyright for all music and videos used must be owned by the filmmaker. By submitting your film to the KKIFF 2015, you agree that the KKIFF 2015 will not be held liable for any copyright infringements perpetrated by you or your film.
  9. Submissions must be received on or before:
           15 March, 2015 – for inclusion in the KKIFF programme
           30 April, 2015 – cannot be included in the KKIFF programme
  10. If you post your film, it must arrive in Sabah on or before the dates in 9. above. So please allow enough time for postage.

Make Submissions

To Make Submissions

Please follow these two steps:

1) Upload your entry (highest resolution possible) to YouTube http://www.youtube.com (creating an account is free)

OR

Send your dvd in PAL (Ratio aspect 4:3 or 16:9/minimum picture resolution 720×576 dpi) to:

2) Fill in the KKIFF 2015 Docs+ Submission Form at https://www.kkiff.com/submit – with the link to your YouTube upload if that is how you are submitting your movie

First Deadline for submissions is 15 March 2015 – for your pic & bio to appear in our festival programme

Second Deadline for submissions is 30 April 2015.

Curating DOCS+

Curating the Programme & Screening

  1. Curating Docs+ will take place by 20 March, 2015 and then 15 May, 2015 and those whose films are selected for screening will be informed on the KKIFF website and by email as soon as possible after these dates.
  2. Screening of the Docs+ programme:

    Date: 5, 8, 9, 10, 11 June
    Time: 5.30-7.30pm
    Venue: JKKN
    Participants: Everyone is welcome

Note:

  1. Submissions must not have been made public on the web, mobile phones, other public vewing platforms or on television prior to this festival
  2. Dvds will not be returned. Postage, insurance and any other costs incurred are the responsibility of the filmmaker submitting the dvd. The KKIFF is not responsible for any dvds or other materials that go missing.
